2.5.1 Parametric Distribution Analysis (Right Censoring)
Origin’s Parametric Distribution Analysis for Right Censoring uses maximum likelihood (MLE) or least squares (LS) to fit up to 7 common lifetime distributions to your right-censored data, plots survival /hazard curves, and reports key quantities, such as median life, and survival probabilities at any time, or age when a given failure proportion is reached, for contract specs or future design change.
Origin’s Parametric Distribution Analysis for Right Censoring is integrated into the Reliability and Survival app.
Notes:
- This tool handles only purely right-censored data and exact failure time. If your data includes left-censored and/or interval censored data, use analysis for Arbitrary Censoring instead.
- Always validate the survival model with nonparametric distribution analysis or other tools first, to prevent choosing an incorrect distribution in the parametric analysis.
